Historic Credit Issues
Clients who contact us with a poor credit history typically tell us that there was a good reason for the issues on their credit file, whether it be a Missed Mortgage Payment, Default, CCJ (County Court Judgement), IVA (Individual Voluntrary Arrangement), Debt Management Plan, Scottish Trust Deed, Debt Relief Order, Bankruptcy or Repossession.
Their historic credit issues may have been caused due to a life event such as divorce, illness, death of a close family member, loss of job, business failure or other valid reason.
We find those clients that have had impaired credit in the past will do their utmost to avoid this happening again and can be a good customer for a lender willing to consider the entire situation and background to the credit issues.
At RockHopper, we look to assist clients who have had credit problems in the past. We do not make any judgements.
Although we can advise on mortgages for clients with historic credit issues, we cannot provide any debt counselling.
Clients often tell us that they are concerned they cannot, or may not ever be able to get a mortgage due to their historic credit issues. This may mean they can’t purchase their dream home or remortgage their existing property to release capital for home improvements.
They often inform us they have approached their existing Bank, Building Society or Lender who have turned them down, due to historic credit difficulties.
We appreciate everyone’s particular situation is unique, which is why we look at every enquiry on a case by case basis.
