Locum Income Mortgages
At RockHopper we work with a number of clients who receive all or part of their income via Locum contracts, whether it be dentists, doctors, pharmacists, vets etc.
We often find that clients who receive locum income have faced a number of problems when approaching their Bank/Building Society to find a mortgage, such as:
- Their locum contract doesn’t specify the number of hours they are required to work
- They have recently started receiving locum income
- They receive both employed income and top this up with locum income and need a lender to be able to consider both
We work with a number of lenders who are happy to consider locum income towards mortgage affordability. Additionally, some of the lenders we work with will look at applicants who have a limited locum history as long as they have reasonable experience as a professional and/or can demonstrate an upward career path.Read More >>
Clients have told us that they may have approached their own Bank/Building Society for a mortgage using locum income and have been declined.
Clients approaching us to arrange a mortgage using locum income are often frustrated, that although their plans make sense, they have spoken to a number of lenders who will simply not consider a mortgage because of all or part of their income is earned via locum contracts.
At Rockhopper we understand that every case is different and that no clients are ever the same. That is why we apply a common sense approach to assessing whether we can assist.
