Mortgage for House with Holiday Cottage
At RockHopper we work with a number of clients who have asked us to arrange a mortgage on a house with one or more holiday cottage(s)/annex(es)/outbuildings on the same grounds.
We are able to assist clients looking to arrange a residential mortgage for this type of property as long as the mortgage applicants will occupy at least 40% of the property floorspace – including the main residence and holiday cottage(s)/annex(es).
Some of the lenders we work with are happy to consider a property where the holiday cottage(s) and/or annex(es) are let either as holiday lets or to businesses for offices and workshops.
We often find that clients who are looking to purchase or remortgage a house with a holiday cottage and annex are turned down by Banks and Building Societies as they do not like the fact that part of the property could be rented to a third party.
